Albfurque and Gay Pride Parade
May. 31st, 2008 07:42 pmHi Everyone,
Well this year Albufurque will be on June 14 but before the festivities start we have entered our group into the Gay Pride Parade.
The Parade starts at 10:30 am. So we should meet at Central and Girard on the UNM campus at 9:30 am. We need to coordinate cars at the Expo Fairgrounds. Since we have the Bear Mobile as the vehicle so suiters can jump in and pop tops etc. We are going to need handlers. I am thinking Sabot, Ari and Scritch would want to suit. Others can wear rainbows and tails and ears. Miracle are you going to want to suit? I am driving. Let's get a turnout for NM Furs.
After that we can come back to Fur Central for the party. The official time for that will be 3 pm.
So here are the details:

The food theme for Albufurque is Junk Food. We will have corn dogs and french fries and a cake. Please bring something to share that is tasty and such.

Crash Space is limited but we have some and Scritchwolf has kindly offered his den as additional space. He lives about 2 miles away!!! He said to bring sleeping bags. Also, if you crash here you might need them too. Air mattresses are welcome as well.
Please bring a side dish, munchie, appetizer, dessert or drinks to share. We will provide some soda, hamburgers, hotdogs etc. We are expecting 40 plus people. Because of this, we have limited seating so BYOC (bring a lawn chair or folding chair etc).

Choir Concert
May. 10th, 2007 12:47 pmI would like to invite everyone to my choir concert Friday and Saturday night. I even have a solo. The Albuquerque Civic Chorus is going to NYC to sing at Carnegie Hall at the end of this month. This is a good opportunity to hear some of the music we will be singing.

at Immanuel Presbyterian Church
114 Carlisle SE, corner of Central and Carlisle
Tickets are $5
We will be singing a traditional program at the beginning with songs by Mozart and Handel to name two and the second half is Broadway stuff. It should be a good concert.

I will print maps out this time before going over there. Parking was an issue last time but I hope not this time. I have 4 more spaces if anyone wants to come. Whoot. So looking forward to this. The Bear and I caculated the costs and it will come out to about $60 per person but this includes your four course meal (appetizer, salad, main course and dessert) a non-alcoholic beverage, tax and tip. Also, new for the evening will be a cash bar! We get our own private room as well.
